First time I went to the Run4It running store in Edinburgh was when I was there for the 2005 Bupa great 10k run. It was after the 2004 Olympics and I was in the shop for an hour after the assistant pulled out photos from interviews with Stefano Baldini who had won marathon. I remember it was an eventful race with the Brazilian de Lima leading when a crazed Irish lunatic pushed him to the side of the road four miles from the finish. The reason I remembered the visit though is because I found my favorite running shoes the Mizuno Wave aero which I still use in there current incarnation as the Wave Precision. I got to try them out on the treadmill and they took a look at me on the video playback too! You don’t get that when you buy from Wiggle.
I’m now delighted to announce I will be working with Run 4 It in 2010.
The team at the Edinburgh store, led by Manager Ben Lee and Assistant Manager Hamish McAndrew, are really switched on and all keen runners who are happy to offer help, advice and encouragement, whether you are starting running for the first time or training for your next Ironman. They offer a huge range of shoes and kit but also excellent service including using there in store treadmill for testing and video gait analysis and playback.
I am particularly excited because they play an active part in the Edinburgh running community through there running groups which encourage all levels from beginner to expert to get involved. I hope be joining them soon for some run sessions with some question and answer opportunities at the shop afterwards.
